1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tbsp instant espresso powder
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

 

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 6-inch cake pan with cooking spray or butter and dust it with flour.

2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and espresso powder.

3. In a separate bowl, beat together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.

4. Add the eggs to the butter mixture one at a time, beating well after each addition.

5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.

6. Stir in the vanilla extract.

7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
