Chocolate Avocado Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

1 ripe avocado, pitted and mashed

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup almond flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup maple syrup

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup dark chocolate chips

Optional toppings: sliced strawberries, chopped nuts, whipped cream

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 6-inch cake pan by lightly greasing it with cooking spray or butter.
 
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed avocado, unsweetened cocoa powder, almond flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are well combined.
 
3. In another mixing bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract until they are fully combined.
 
4. Pour the wet ingredients mixture into the dry ingredients mixture and mix well until a smooth batter is formed. Stir in the dark chocolate chips and mix gently.
 
5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
 
6. Bake the cake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
 
7. Once the cake is done baking, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool for 5 minutes in the pan.
 
8. After 5 minutes, remove the cake from the pan and transfer it onto a wire rack to cool completely. Allow it to cool for at least 10-15 minutes before adding any toppings.
 
9. Once the cake has cooled, you can add your desired toppings such as sliced strawberries, chopped nuts, or whipped cream. Cut the cake into 4 equal slices and serve immediately.
